RESUME
Artistic Statement
My focus in all of my artmaking is the furtherance of the queer survival narrative in new works and the re-examination of classic texts to highlight existing themes of queerness. After devoting significant study to the queer character in American fiction and drama before, during and after the AIDS crisis, I believe that the American Theatre has a responsibility to shirk its trope of the queer character as fated to die. I believe that this can be achieved through both scripted and devised works, and it is the basis for the vast majority of my projects.

I have a background in music and vocal training, and I bring this knowledge to all of my work. To this point, work that I have directed has been primarily musicals or plays that are scored with significant music. This is my strongest guidepost in directing.

As an Arts Administrator, my focus is on the development of emerging artists and providing living wages to artists. The unpaid internship is obsolete, and I believe that emerging artists need paid professional opportunity to advance in our careers.
